I start swimming as young as 4 years old, I could jump off the high diving board at our swimming club. I didn’t join any swimming clubs as my dad was my best teacher. I excelled well at interschool competitions earning me dozens of trophies, medals, and certificates. I was selected to represent our country Kenya in an international competition that was held in South Africa. I am a very friendly and patient person. My always smiling nature is highly appreciated among friends and relatives. From young children to old people, I can deal with them all due to my high patience level. My highest swimming achievement is representing my country, Kenya in an international competition in South Africa. Swimming has always been my passion and I have taken up many competitions back in school. Teaching swimming gives me the hope and pride that the individual I teach may also participate in competitions in the future

Modestas has always been drawn to visual and physical tasks, constantly seeking to learn and improve his skills. His journey in swimming began early in life, and he has been swimming ever since. Modestas transitioned from being a self-taught swimmer to a certified swimming teacher, a journey that reflects his determination and commitment to personal growth. Since he qualified as a swimming teacher in May 2021, Modestas has honed his teaching skills. He has a diverse teaching background, working with learners of all age groups, from 1-year-olds to adults. His dedication to teaching is evident in his continuous efforts to improve and encourage his learners. Modestas is not only passionate about swimming but also possesses a drive to acquire new skills. He is currently teaching himself how to fix cars and perform bodywork repairs, showcasing his determination and ability to learn independently. In regard to the Swimming Nature Programme, Modestas believes that it is carefully designed. He particularly appreciates the program's approach to teaching swimming techniques without the use of equipment such as floats. This method fosters a stronger technique and independence in learners, as they rely solely on their bodies and abilities. Modestas enjoys teaching all age groups and levels, emphasizing the importance of building confidence in learners. His teaching journey has involved helping both children and adults from various age brackets, and he constantly strives to enhance his teaching abilities and encourage his students. He chose to become a Swimming Nature teacher because he resonates with the program's message of promoting swimming as a lifelong habit. Modestas appreciates the in-water teaching approach, which allows for a more hands-on teaching style and better demonstrations. This method also instills confidence in learners and helps them overcome any fears or apprehensions related to swimming. In summary, Modestas is a passionate and dedicated swimming instructor who brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role. His commitment to lifelong learning and his alignment with the Swimming Nature Programme's teaching methods make him a valuable asset to the world of aquatic education.
