His dedication to the craft is underscored by a solid foundation of qualifications and a deep love for aquatic activities. With a STA Certificate in Teaching and an STA Safety Award, Joe is well-equipped to impart essential swimming skills to learners of all ages. His impressive background in the water spans more than 20 years, reflecting his lifelong commitment to swimming. Joe's professional journey began at the age of 16 when he earned his lifeguard qualification and commenced work at a pool in North London. Instead of pursuing a university education, his dedication to the industry led him to become a duty manager. His drive for self-improvement saw him acquire swimming teaching qualifications and a pool plant level 3 certification. Joe's determination to stay at the forefront of his field is evidenced by his commitment to completing a minimum of three CPD courses each year. In the swim school world, Joe is an upward-bound enthusiast. He seeks to continue ascending the ladder, amassing certifications and refining his teaching prowess. The Swimming Nature Programme holds a special place in Joe's heart. He values the program's emphasis on intimate, private lessons and the absence of floatation aids. This unique approach, combined with the program's well-defined badge scheme and progressive swimming levels, ensures constant advancement and achievement for his young learners. Joe's enthusiasm for teaching transcends age groups and skill levels. From introducing beginners to the joys of water to fine-tuning strokes for more experienced swimmers, Joe revels in each stage of the teaching process. Teaching adults is equally fulfilling, as he witnesses their determination to conquer anxieties and develop new skills, often backed by a curious mindset that demands comprehensive explanations. His choice to become a Swimming Nature teacher is rooted in his profound affinity for water and his desire to share its multifaceted benefits. Beyond the pure enjoyment of swimming, Joe is keen on imparting the social, fitness, and neurological advantages that come with the sport. In the hands of Joe, swimming isn't just an activity—it's a journey of personal growth, skill development, and an enduring love for the water.
Laura
Laura Bowder-Ridger is an English instructor who has been swimming since the age of 4. She recently received an STA Award in Teaching Swimming and plans to take the STA babies course in the future. Laura graduated from university with a BA in Illustration and Animation, and plans on pursuing a part-time master's degree. Laura has previous experience working with children and enjoys teaching water confidence, particularly to younger children. She is passionate about teaching non-swimmers and helping them to become water confident, with a focus on teaching good technique from the start. Laura enjoys teaching the Swimming Nature Programme because of the small class sizes and the opportunity to teach good technique without the dependence on floats. She particularly enjoys teaching the youngest swimmers, including the "frogs and seals" levels. Laura chose to become a Swimming Nature teacher because she wanted to avoid the large class sizes typically found in leisure centres, which she believes do not allow for individual attention and effective teaching. In her free time, Laura enjoys pursuing her passion for illustration.

Thais
Thais, originally from Brazil, has immersed herself in the world of swimming instruction with a dedication that spans over a decade. Her linguistic versatility, speaking both English and Portuguese, enhances her ability to connect with a diverse range of students. Thais' swimming qualifications include STA Level 1 and Level 2 certifications, along with Safety Award for Teachers and training in Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults. She has also achieved proficiency as a WaterBabies teacher. Her journey as a swimming instructor began in 2010 in the UK, and her focus has predominantly been on child development, particularly aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This strategic approach not only facilitates children's swimming progress but also employs EYFS principles to create a conducive learning environment. Becoming a mother has heightened her appreciation for EYFS, embedding its principles into her lessons. Thais' involvement in swimming was sparked when she witnessed baby swimming lessons during her tenure as a nanny. This ignited her passion for teaching, leading her to embrace the challenge of instructing both children and adults. Her commitment to helping students overcome traumatic experiences in the water exemplifies her empathetic approach. Thais strongly believes in the effectiveness of the Swimming Nature methodology, particularly the focus on individualized attention through 1:2:1 or 2:2:1 lesson structures. Her enthusiastic teaching style, encapsulating the essence of "Swim Beautifully," incorporates playful elements like using animals to communicate different skill levels. Her love for teaching is palpable in every lesson, a sentiment amplified by her dedication to her role at Swimming Nature since 2014. Thais's personal life is also a testament to her vibrant spirit, as she cherishes moments spent with her toddler son during swimming lessons and leisurely walks with her dog. Thais Silveira O'Brien's journey as a swimming instructor blends expertise, passion, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing young swimmers, making her a valuable member of the Swimming Nature team.
